Ask HN: How to read two column papers on mobile?

Most papers still come as a two column PDF. This format is nice printed out but it’s a pain to read on mobile.

Is there a better way?

    phablet which can 2up or tablet. still "mobile" but demands bigger pockets.

    I personally chose not to read some things on my phone, and I use my tablet for what it's best for.

    Some people love the kindle form factor. I don't but it is worth remembering there are other dimensions.

    honestly, I hate the format printed, too - but ... c'est la vie
