Ask HN: How to Look for Manufacturers in Europe?

I am building a startup in the personal care / oral care sector, and I need to find manufacturers that can make tablets / toothpaste. In the US it was easy for me to look for manufacturers because there lots of websites/directories that list these companies such as Thomson. But in Europe, theres nothing like it. The directories that I've tried are a mess, with incorrect listings and whatnot. The language barrier is also a problem because I assume every country has their own directory pages? I even considered hiring a procurement specialist, similar to the ones they have in China for Alibaba etc., but I cant even find them! So, how do I do this?
