Ask HN: I need search terms, articles or open source projects

I would like to write a program or understand some basics of how it works. I am looking to do something similar to how blogspot (aka Blogger) lets you choose a premade template for your blog and gives you a variety of options for tweaking the colors, background pic etc along a broad spectrum of skill levels.

I don't even know how to begin searching the Internet for articles or anything pertinent to what I am interested in.

    This is not exactly what you are asking for, but I recommend datacamp https://www.datacamp.com/ . (They use weird names, so I put that is scare quotes.) They have some free "courses" that are like 3 hours of videos with small test in between. Some are programs with slots you have to fill to make it run. They have "tracks" that are collections of a few "courses" in a sensible order. I'm not sure if they are free.

    Unless you have something planed, my recommendation is to start with python. I think this is a good starting point https://www.datacamp.com/tracks/python-data-fundamentals

    chatgpt/llms can answer newbie questions like this; Blogspot (or Blogger) allows users to customize templates for their blogs by using a combination of HTML, CSS, and XML.
