I like the idea of Zed. I have always been against Electron consuming the desktop platform as we know it, but on the other hand, I am in a group that is a massive beneficiary of Electron consuming the desktop platform, it is a lot better, now that we have native platforms that let you write code once and compile it to Mac, Windows, and Linux, but if we never used Electron, we would likely be unable to use discord, VSCode, Spotify (technically CEF but my point still stands), Etcher, and so many more. Zed is a great idea, I love moving to native apps, but I still dont think Zed has enough traction at the moment.
