You know how the Internet is full of _”you must eat your body weight in grams of protein every day”_ spiel?
I did some in-my-head calculations over lunch the other day and arrived at the conclusion that this is nonsense. There is no way that everyone in a family can eat 60-70g of protein every day. You would need a dedicated protein manager in the house!
But then I made a spreadsheet.
And goddammit it is possible. I tried multiple different assumptions to prove my point but no matter what I tried, I kept coming back to the conclusion that it was indeed possible to eat a fair bit of protein every day even as a family. It might be a bit expensive but it surely isn’t impossible.
Anyway, I recruited my good friend Claude Chatterjee (PT), and made a Protein Calculator for my family.
Been using it for a couple of days and it actually helped! Yesterday, I noticed that I was quite short of my daily target (70g). So I simply ate a mini protein bar as my post-dinner treat. Win-win!
What do you guys, think? Would love to hear your experiences with improving your diet!
