I first had Xfinity but it kept cutting out in the middle of calls which is unacceptable for me. So I got FIOS.
For a few months, Xfinity worked flawlessly. I'm talking four entire months, not a single drop. Went from many drops to zero drops.
So I cancelled Verizon. The next day, Xfinity started dropping again.
I got Verizon again, and again Xfinity worked flawlessly for months. Finally I canceled Verizon AGAIN and Xfinity is now cutting out AGAIN.
Might they be sharing some equipment? I have no idea. One is "fiber" and the other is "copper" but they must share some infrastructure at some point. Also I doubt these companies are even sophisticated enough to operate a cartel at this level. But that being said—they ended up extracting nearly $1k from me in spurious Verizon payments.
