    Really interesting points in this article, and I think OP should trademark "revenge of capital". I remember when we started talking about the post-capital world 10y ago, and this is truly the exact opposite.

    Author's point about emotion is strong, but the point about memory goes beyond emotional reactions. When you are interacting in this environment, people whose careers started before the .com bust, before 2008, and in the booming '10s have very different perspectives even where interpreting their experiences purely rationally. Times of distress dominate people's learning (both an emotional and a rational heuristic!). I've found it increasingly important to keep the timeline of these formative events in mind in professional discussions.
