Ask HN: What Happened to Pinboard (November '22 edition)

The pinboard threads have been petering out. However for me a month ago my archives finally started working again. Maybe Maciej is actually somewhat maintaining the service? Has anyone else seen some improvement? Sadly I still am unable to download the archive of my cached pages though.

I've also compiled a list of many of the alternatives that have been mentioned on HN in the past: -TinyGem -Buku (FOSS) -GGather -Diigo -historio.us -espial (FOSS) -BrainTool -Larder -Are.na -ArchiveBox (FOSS)

If anyone's had a good experience with an alternative please vouch for it as many pinboard users are looking for a new home.

    I've used buku for years now. It stores everything in a simple db that can be version controlled and exported to json. I sync across multiple machines, but usually only care about bookmarks on my desktops. I search it through FZF and add new items at the command line. It's a very simple, very reliable tool that's faster than anything out there.
