    I posted this because it genuinely scared me, in a way technology hadn't scared me yet.

    They specifically say 'with Orchid, couples today have a new ability to stack the odds in their children’s favor'. But how? By sequencing DNA of prospective partners to find the perfect one?

    This can create a future where people screen each other's DNA, and look for only the top-of-the-line genetic specimens. I guess it was going to happen anyway, but this scares me a lot, and at first glance I would support regulations opposing the sequencing of DNA for the purpose of improving your children.

    We could be altering the natural selection process that, with its randomness and variation, led to our own evolution.
