I'm wondering what other projects experience as a percentage of time programming to release a new feature. There are all these other tasks such as design, writing tests, and documentation that in my experience are starting to take more time than the programming if we are going to do it "the right way". This goes back to accurately estimating the level of effort for a feature, if we're just estimating time to program, then are we missing the majority of effort in our estimate?
