I'm new-ish to a management role and trying to figure out how 1:1, 360 reviews, annual reviews, and team dynamics should be working.

I wonder if this resonates for people and what I'm missing? I'd really appreciate insight from both sides (mgmt/lead and individual contributors) - what do you expect to get out of 1 on 1s and other mgr-ic interactions? Also, how jaded are your expectations compared to what you think could be achieved through these same interactions?
